52 book challenge

A long overdue update | 52 Book Challenge

Well, guys, I think it’s safe to say that I am way overdue for an update on my progress on the 52 book challenge! If I recall correctly, my last update was in March (yikes!) so I’ve got a lot of ground to cover… 5 months and over twenty books! Normally I like to talk a little bit about each book I read, but that would take ages, so instead I’ll only write more about them if I really have something I want to say 🙂

April Reads

  1. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
  2. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
  3. Burial Rites by Hannah Kent (chosen because it’s set in Iceland, where I traveled in April!)
  4. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han (Perfect light, chick-lit read for a long plane ride!)
  5. PS I Still Love You by Jenny Han

May Reads

  1. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
  2. Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty
  3. Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote
  4. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (I don’t normally go for these tear-jerker kinds of books, but MAN this one really got me sobbing)

June Reads

  1. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
  2. You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero

Wow. I can’t believe I only read two books during the of June… WOOPS. Anyway, continuing on…

July Reads

  1. We Were Liars by E Lockhart
  2. Mastering your Mean Girl by Melissa Ambrosini
  3. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by JK Rowling (Obviously a re-read. I was sick and HP always comforts me, what can I say.)
  4. Nerve by Jeanne Ryan (Picked this up because I saw the movie trailer and was intrigued. The movie was WAY different than the book, and I definitely liked the book better)
  5. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling (Ok. Once I re-read the first one, I kinda HAD to re-read the whole series, ya know? It has been YEARS since I’ve read the books, and I figured it would be a good idea to read them all again and refresh my memory before reading the new play!)

August Reads

  1. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by JK Rowling
  2. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by JK Rowling
  3. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling
  4. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by JK Rowling
  5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling
  6. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by JK Rowling & Jack Thorne
  7. Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella

PHEW – now we are finally all caught up! I promise  to do a better job of staying on top of these updates for the rest of the year so we can avoid another mega-post like this one! Honestly, September’s may be kind of short – I am in a bit of a reading hangover after Harry Potter because NOTHING can beat HP. Anyone else feel that way about their favorite book or series? (Plus, I’m still mourning the deaths of Dobby, Dumbledore, Hedwig, Snape… the list goes on, really. Thanks, JK Rowling)

What have you been reading lately? I am always looking for recommendations!
